Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan must resign or be sacked, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) said on Friday after two rounds of talks with the government, adding that the student protests will continue.
"The government has asked for time until tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) on our demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. We hope the government will remove him soon. The government has expressed in-principle approval on the two demands of compensation (for families of NEET aspirants who died by suicide) and withdrawal of FIRs, legal cases on students," CJP Ashutosh Ranka said.
While the government was represented by Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Minister of State for PMO Jitendra Singh, the CJP was represented by its national spokesperson Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka.
"The meeting went on for almost 2 hours. They had 3 main demands and 5 reform suggestions for exams. We have told them that we will meet them again tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) and tell them about the discussion we had among the government," JP Nadda said after the meeting, NDTV reported.

Wangchuk breaks fast
The talks came hours after activist Sonam Wangchuk broke his fast after 26 days, Leh Ladakh’s Apex Body co-convenor Cherring Dorjay Lakruk announced late Thursday. The 59-year-old broke the fast in the presence of two union ministers on certain conditions, he said. The government gave a written assurance that cases against students will be taken back if they are not violent, he added. Also, the government gave a written assurance that they will consider compensation for NEET aspirants who took their lives, he said.
CJP persists with demand.
Ahead of the meeting CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke too underlined that nothing short of the resignation of the education minister over the NEET paper leak will do.
"If the government wants a solution

Rahul Gandhi for protestor’s demand
Referring to Dharmendra Pradhan as a criminal education minister, Opposition Leader in the Indian Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said he has to go. Rahul Gandhi has also said there would be no discussions with the government until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns, taking responsibility for the NEET examination paper leaks.
The statement from the Congress leader came just minutes after the Lok Sabha was adjourned with opposition members raising slogans following Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju’s announcement that the government was ready for a discussion on paper leaks.

Dharmendra Pradhan won’t quit: Sources
The government has ruled out the possibility of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigning over the NEET-UG paper leak row, with sources saying on Friday that stepping down would be the easiest thing to do and would amount to running away from responsibility.
The development is a huge blow to the online satire movement Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which is staging a month-long protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, demanding Pradhan’s resignation over the NEET paper leak row and other examination-related issues.
