Xi Jinping congratulates Mirza Fakhrul

Chinese President Xi Jinping has congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his inauguration as the 23rd President of Bangladesh, expressing readiness to work with him to further deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
In a congratulatory message, Xi said China and Bangladesh are neighbours with a long-standing friendship and that their bilateral relations have withstood changing international circumstances.
Over the past 51 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have respected and treated each other as equals, supported each other on issues concerning their respective core interests and major concerns, and pursued their paths to modernisation hand in hand, he said.
Xi said he is ready to work with President Mirza Fakhrul to carry forward the traditional friendship, strengthen strategic communication and promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
He also called for expanded exchanges and cooperation across various sectors to further advance the China-Bangladesh community with a shared future in the new era.
Xi expressed hope that such cooperation would continue to deepen and produce tangible results, bringing greater benefits to the peoples of the two countries.
