Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif, along with heads of government of other SAARC countries, are expected to be invited to the oath-taking ceremony of Bangladesh’s new government.
A senior leader of the Bangladesh
Nationalist Party (BNP) confirmed the development on Saturday.
He said the ceremony will be organised
by the interim government, though the BNP has given some indications
regarding the guest list.
The date of the oath-taking and the
final list of guests have not yet been confirmed.
BNP is set to form the government
after winning more than two-thirds of the seats in the 13th national
parliamentary election, while Jamaat-e-Islami will be the main opposition
party.
