Newly-elected Prime Minister Tarique Rahman paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Martyrs' Memorial.
The Prime Minister’s motorcade departed from his residence in Gulshan for Savar at 10:00am on Wednesday. At around 11:00am, the Prime Minister and members of the Cabinet placed wreaths at the memorial in honor of the fallen heroes.
After paying tribute at the National Martyrs’ Memorial, the Prime Minister and Cabinet members are scheduled to visit the graves of former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia to lay wreaths and offer prayers.
Later, the Prime Minister will head to the Secretariat, where the first Cabinet meeting of the new government will be held in the afternoon. Following the meeting, he is also expected to exchange views with secretaries.
Notably, this will be the first Cabinet meeting since the swearing-in of the new government.
