Government employees are going to enjoy a five-day holiday for holy Eid-ul-Fitr this year, with the possibility of extending it to seven or even ten consecutive days by taking additional leave.

According to the official government holiday calendar, Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to be observed on 21 March (Saturday), subject to the sighting of the moon.

For 2026, a total of five days has been designated as public holidays for the festival.

The official Eid holiday will start from 19 March (Thursday) to 23 March (Monday). Shab-e-Qadr will be observed on 17 March, which is also a public holiday. If employees take leave on Wednesday, 18 March, they will be able to enjoy a continuous seven-day holiday.

Meanwhile, Independence Day will be observed on 26 March (Thursday), followed by the weekly weekend on 27 and 28 March. If employees take casual leave on 24 and 25 March after Eid, they could enjoy a continuous ten-day break.
