Jubo Dal activist hacked dead in Khulna

Unidentified miscreants hacked to death a Jubo Dal activist over prior dispute at Senhati area, Digholia upazila of Khulna on Friday afternoon.

The victim Murad Khan, 45, was a member of Jubo Dal’s Digholia upazila unit, and a businessman.

Khulna district Police Superintendent Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the murder, and said that officers are working to detain the assailants.

According to eyewitnesses, Murad Khan was returning to his house in Hajigram on Friday afternoon but some youths intercepted him in front of the Senhati Miapara Mosque. Murad ran away from them and sought shelter at a store. However, the assailants quickly caught up, and dragged him out of the store before hacking him indiscriminately.

As Murad lost consciousness, locals rushed him to the Khulna Medical College Hospital where the on-duty physician declared him dead.
