The “Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign-2026” was officially launched in Thakurgaon on Monday, aiming to protect children from the deadly diseases.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Rafiqul Haque inaugurated the campaign at 10am by releasing balloons at the EPI Vaccination Centre on the premises of Thakurgaon 250-bed General Hospital.

A total of 142,511 children have been targeted under the campaign. To achieve this, authorities have set up 1,363 vaccination centres, including six permanent and 1,357 temporary facilities.

Children aged between six months and five years will receive vaccines daily from 9am to 4pm throughout the campaign period.
