French envoy, PM’s adviser eye deepening defence ties

The French Ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet and the Prime Minister’s (PM's) Defence Adviser Brig Gen (retd) AKM Shamsul Islam on Monday expressed hope of strengthening military relations and strategic cooperation between the two countries.

They discussed the matter when the French envoy paid a courtesy call on the adviser at the Armed Forces Division office in Dhaka Cantonment, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.

Officials said the meeting reflected ongoing efforts to deepen defence and security cooperation between Bangladesh and France.
