High-powered probe body formed to investigate alleged irregularities in JS

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, has constituted a five-member high-powered committee to investigate the alleged irregularities in parliament highlighted in a recent media report.
The report titled “Massive Irregularities (Horiloot) in Parliament Procurement” was published in the Bangladesh Pratidin and several online portals on 19 April.
As the report came to the notice of the highest authorities of the House, the speaker on Tuesday formed the probe committee to look into the matter, read a press release of the Parliament Secretariat.
The committee is headed by Whip and Member of Parliament ABM Ashraf Uddin (Lakshmipur-4) as convener. The other members are MPs Lutfullahel Mazed (Mymensingh-8), Md Saiful Alam (Dhaka-12), Humam Quader Chowdhury (Chattogram-7), and Md Abul Hasnat (Cumilla-4).
The committee has been asked to submit its investigation report within seven days.
