Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday said that 37,814 female heads of low-income and vulnerable households have been brought under the Family Card programme to provide social protection.
He said each of these households is receiving a monthly

generations will inherit a prosperous nation.
He also said that the Ministry of Women and
Children Affairs is implementing various programmes aimed at the overall
development and welfare of women and children.
These include the Vulnerable Women Benefit (VWB)
programme for improving the socio-economic condition of poor women; the Mother
and Child Support Programme to ensure maternal nutrition during pregnancy and
support children’s physical and intellectual development; microcredit
initiatives for women’s self-employment; and the operation of the Joyeeta
