Zubaida inaugurates 50-bed ICU at Kurmitola Hospital

Zubaida Rahman, the wife of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, inaugurated a 50-bed intensive care unit (ICU) at the Kurmitola General Hospital in the capital on Tuesday.

On the occasion, she also inaugurated at pavilion for the pathology department and a gastro-liver centre.

Officials of the hospital, the health department and others were also present at the inauguration ceremony.

After the ceremony, Zubaida said health service is not a privilege but a right for every citizen.

People from Korail slum, Bhashantek, Seven-Story Slum area and other marginalised localities in the area will no longer be deprived of the right to healthcare, thanks to the newest amenities launched at the Kurmitola hospital, she added.

Afterwards, she enquired after the admitted patients, and called on the doctors to ensure the best services for the people.
