Court summons Somoy TV MD Zobayer, five others

A Dhaka court has summoned six people, including Somoy Television Managing Director (MD) Ahmed Zobayer, to appear before it on 17 June in a case filed over allegations of fraud and breach of trust.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Israt Jahan passed the order on Wednesday.

The other accused who were summoned are Shamima Sultana Chowdhury, Naowar Joyeeta, Ahmed Rafid Kader Rivu, Sheikh Mahmud Yasin, and Md Sani Chowdhury.

According to the order, allegations have been brought against them under various sections of the Penal Code.

The court asked them to appear before it either in person or through their lawyers on 17 June to explain the allegations brought against them.
