The Dhaka University (DU) administration has temporarily suspended four teachers and relieved an official of his duties following allegations regarding their controversial July Uprising roles.

The accused teachers reportedly called students "Razakars" and threatened them during the anti-discrimination movement.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof ABM Obaidul Islam chaired a syndicate meeting on 22 June where the authorities finalised the decisions for their controversial July Uprising roles. Several syndicate members present at the meeting confirmed the developments.

The suspended faculty members are Prof Nazmul Ahsan Kalim Ullah of the Department of Public Administration, Prof AKM Jamal Uddin of the Department of Sociology, Prof Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam of the Department of Banking and Insurance, and Prof Mohammad Ajmal Hossain Bhuiyan of the Department of Botany.
