Bangladeshi humanitarian activist Muhammad Raj (NouMuslim) received prestigious international recognition at the International Human Rights Conference held in Dhaka recently, where South Asian dignitaries lauded his relentless service to oppressed and disaster-affected communities at home and abroad.

The conference was organized by the SAARC Human Rights Foundation, one of the largest human rights organizations in South Asia.

Former Prime Minister of Nepal Shri Madhav Kumar Nepal and former District Judge of India and former Chairman of the Minorities Commission Intiyaz Ali Shah were briefed on Muhammad Raj's national and international humanitarian activities and expressed their deep appreciation.

The event brought together human rights activists, former state officials, judges, social workers, and eminent personalities from various countries across South Asia, said a press release.

Among the special guests and distinguished personalities featured at the conference were Dr Ayesha Ramada, Chairman of the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives; and Jackson Duppa, President of the SAARC Human Rights Foundation, Bhutan.

A commemorative plaque was handed over to Muhammad Raj in recognition of his special role in humanitarian service. His notable welfare activities include standing beside disaster-stricken people, providing food and medical assistance to helpless families, rehabilitating persons with disabilities, skill development initiatives, and participation in international humanitarian programs.

Upon receiving the honor, Muhammad Raj said, "This honor does not belong to me alone; it is a recognition of the collective efforts of my entire team, well-wishers, associates, and donors who work tirelessly in the service of humanity. This recognition will inspire us to stand beside helpless and oppressed people with even greater responsibility in the future."
