Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani’s term extended by another year

The government has extended the contractual appointment of Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani by another year. 

A gazette notification to this effect was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday by order of the president.

The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Md Golam Rabbani, said Nasimul Ghani has been reappointed as cabinet secretary on a contractual basis for another year from 18 August 2026. 

The reappointment was made under Section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018, subject to relinquishing any other profession, business or employment with any government, semi-government, private institution or organisation.

Govt extends Senior Secretary Ehsanul’s term by one year

The appointment will take effect as the continuation of his previous contractual appointment.

Nasimul Ghani is an officer of the 1982 BCS administration cadre. He stood fourth among 142 officers of the administration cadre from that batch.
