Opratim, the 13-year-old son of Comilla University Associate Professor Nahida Begum, was buried at Kotbari Bagmara grave yard on Sunday following his second namaz-e-janaza.
The second janaza was held at around 11am on Sunday, after which Opratim was buried at the cemetery.
After the burial, Opratim’s father, KM Firoz Shahriar, called for a speedy trial.
“My request to the current administration is to ensure a speedy trial. My son was only 13 years old. At this age, he could not have committed any crime, nor could there have been any romantic involvement. The CCTV footage clearly shows that he was going with them happily,” he said.
Opratim was the only child of Dr Nahida Begum, an associate professor of the Bengali Department at Comilla University.
His father, KM Firoz Shahriar, is a businessman. Opratim was a seventh-grade student at Border Guard Public School and College in Cumilla.
Earlier in the day, his first janaza was held at the central playground of Comilla University at around 10am.
