Popular content creator Salman Mohammad Muqtadir’s Brownfish Studio was vandalised and looted by a group of miscreants in the New Gini Condominium City area near ECB Chattar in the capital early Sunday.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cantonment Police Station Muhammad Gias Uddin confirmed the information, saying two people have been detained from the scene.

Salman alleged no one had personally demanded extortion from him. However, he claimed that a local BNP leader had demanded money from the land owner, and he suspected that the attack might have been linked to the dispute.

He said around 150 to 200 people arrived in three to four trucks and vandalised the studio and looted various items.

A visit to the spot found that not only the studio but also several parts of the entire building premises had been damaged.

Salman was in Chattogram when the attack took place. He returned to Dhaka after learning about the incident. Two of his employees were inside the studio at the time.

The studio had around 29 CCTV cameras installed across the premises, according to the content creator.

OC Muhammad Gias Uddin told the Daily Sun that police went to the ECB Chattar area after receiving information about an attack on an office and brought the situation under control.

“Two people have been detained from the spot. The reason for the attack will be known after questioning them,” he said.

The process of taking legal steps in this regard is underway, the OC added.
