Six more children die with measles-like symptoms in 24 hours

Six more children died with measles-like symptoms across the country and 1,291 new suspected cases were reported in the past 24 hours, the country's health authorities said on Tuesday. 

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 102 cases of measles were confirmed between 8am Monday and 8am Tuesday, with no confirmed deaths during the same period.

The DGHS said that since 15 March, the total number of confirmed measles cases has stood at 21,910, while suspected cases have reached 199,013.

Dengue claims 10 more lives in 24 hours

During the same period, 102 people died from confirmed measles, while 1,032 deaths were reported among suspected cases, bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,134.

Besides, a total of 169,290 patients have recovered so far, the DGHS said.
