A series of crude bomb explosions rocked different parts of the Dhaka University (DU) campus on Sunday evening, triggering panic among students and visitors.
According to eyewitnesses, explosions took place beside the university's administrative building, in the Vice-Chancellor's residence area, near the Mukti O Ganatantra Toron, and in the TSC area.
Another crude bomb exploded in front of the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, according to reports.
Meanwhile, students and people detained two men as they allegedly attempted to flee after explosions in the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) area. They were later handed over to the university's proctorial team.
DU Proctor Prof Md Israfil Prang said the two men were initially taken to the proctor's office before being handed over to Shahbagh Police Station.
He added that the university authorities were reviewing CCTV footage to identify those involved in the explosions.
