More than 400 students from two schools in Gazipur tested their blood groups on Sunday through a free testing campaign organised by the Bashundhara Shuvosangho Gazipur district unit.
The campaign was held at Rafiqul Islam Model Academy and Sacred Heart Cadet School, aiming to raise awareness about health and encourage students to participate in humanitarian activities such as blood donation.
“Knowing one’s blood group is very important. Initiatives like this not only raise awareness among students but also inspire them to become future blood donors,” said Naim Hasan Russell, founder of Rafiqul Islam Model Academy and adviser of Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Gazipur District unit.
Sacred Heart Cadet School Principal Habiba Rashid Sumi thanked the organisers, saying, “Such initiatives help build health consciousness among students. We appreciate Bashundhara Shuvosangho for including our school in this programme.”

Bashundhara Shuvosangho Gazipur district unit President Musafir Imran said, “Working for the welfare of humanity is our main goal. We will continue organising such initiatives to raise awareness and inspire students to donate blood.”
Students also expressed their appreciation for the campaign. “I didn’t know my blood group before. Thanks to this initiative, now I do. It feels great that such programs are arranged thinking about students like us,” said Sadia Islam, a student of Sacred Heart Cadet School.
Among others present at the event were Bashundhara Shuvosangho Gazipur district unit General Secretary Tanvir Ahmed, Organising Secretary Niloy Ahmed, Office Secretary Tanzila Jerin, Health and Human Resources Secretary Jharna Hia, Finance Secretary Pratyay Bhattacharya, Joint Organising Secretary Emran Sheikh, and Executive Members Anika Tabassum, Naushin Jahan Shammi, and Brishti Akter.
Bashundhara Shuvosangho, a social and humanitarian organisation, has long been conducting community-oriented initiatives. The blood group testing program was part of its ongoing efforts to promote social welfare and awareness.
