Blood groups of 200 students detected in Abhaynagar, Jashore

Bashundhara Shuvosangho, with support from a local blood bank, determined the blood groups of around 200 high school students at Baghutia Union, Abhaynagar upazila in Jashore on Thursday.
The blood detection campaign continued from the morning to noon at Sheikh Abdul Ohab Model College.
College Principal Md Shafiqul Islam, the chief guest, said, “Determining blood groups is an important matter. Through this initiative, students are becoming aware of their blood groups. Therefore, such a humanitarian initiative by Bashundhara Shuvosangho will not only raise students’ awareness but also encourage them to donate blood in the future.”
Regarding the overall initiative, Syed Shohaib Imtiaz Iyad, president of Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Abhaynagar Upazila branch, said, “To raise health awareness among college students and encourage blood donation, our initiative will continue in all colleges of the upazila. The members of Shuvosangho are determined to continue their work for the welfare of the nation and humanity.”
Sadia Khatun, a student of the 12th-grade Humanities section, said, “I did not know my blood group before. Today, through this blood group determination, I have learned it. I thank Bashundhara Shuvosangho for this.”
Shanto Das, a student of the 12th-grade Commerce section, said, “We are grateful to Bashundhara Shuvosangho for organizing such an initiative at our institution. Because of them, students were able to determine their blood groups.”
Ratul Akunji, an 11th-grade student, said, “Through determining our blood groups, I am now prepared to donate blood to any critical patient. I thank Bashundhara Shuvosangho and all members of Abhoynagar Blood Bank for this.”
The special guests were Syed Zahid Masud Taj, an adviser at Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Abhaynagar Upazila branch and also Kaler Kantho’s Abhaynagar Upazila correspondent, and Mallik Khalilur Rahman, treasurer of Nawapara Press Club.
