Ahead of the upcoming Jagannath University Central Students’ Union (JnUCSU) and hall union elections, the Jagannath University chapter of Bashundhara Shuvosangho has announced a unique initiative titled the “JnUCSU Photo Contest.”

The competition will begin on 16 November and continue until the announcement of election results.

According to the organisers, the contest aims to portray the university’s election mood—campaigns, publicity, and public engagement—through photographs taken by students.

A total of 10 students will receive awards, and participants must be students of Jagannath University. Photos are to be submitted via email to [email protected].

Speaking about the initiative, JnU Bashundhara Shuvosangho President Md Junayed Sheikh said the JnUCSU election had long been a heartfelt demand of JnU students. “We want the election to be festive. That’s why we have taken this special initiative. We hope students will participate and develop themselves as skilled photographers,” he added.

Rules that participants must follow in the competition:
1.    Registration is free

2.    Each participant may submit a maximum of three photos, and submissions can be made only once.

3.    Emails must include the participant’s full name, department, academic year, and WhatsApp number, along with the original photos captured on the participant’s mobile device.

4.    Photos with watermarks, signatures, or logos will not be accepted.

5.    Files must be renamed using the format:
6.    SerialNumber_ParticipantName_Department_Batch_Caption_WhatsAppNumber_EmailAddress
7.    (Example: [email protected])

8.    Winners will be chosen based on photo quality and audience engagement (likes and comments).

9.    All decisions by the organisers and judges will be final.
