The Gobindaganj upazila unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised a literary study circle in Gaibandha to nurture reading habits, cultivate literary sensibilities, and foster creative thinking among students.

The session was held at the Gobindaganj Public Library hall on Sunday, bringing together students and local youths to review, discuss, and exchange views on various acclaimed literary works by eminent novelist and Bashundhara Shuvosangho Chief Imdadul Haq Milan.

Presided over by Bashundhara Shuvosangho Gobindaganj Upazila Unit President Atik Hasan Jibon, the programme was attended by Unit Adviser Tanvir Kaushik, members Azmain Mahtab Milan, Rimi Akter, Hussain Ahmed Bilash, Tirtha Talukdar, and students from different educational institutions.

During the discussion, participants examined the key thematic elements, stylistic nuances, societal reflections, and humanistic values portrayed across Milan's novels and short stories.

Attendees read out selected excerpts from his works and shared personal reflections, stressing the importance of reading literature beyond academic curricula.

Addressing the circle, Atik Hasan Jibon remarked: "Books enrich the realm of thought and shape mindful individuals. Nurturing reading habits among students has become critically essential today. We believe regular study circles will widen students' creative horizons and enthusiasm for literature."

Unit Adviser Tanvir Kaushik noted that Milan’s writings vividly capture real-life struggles, cultural nuances, and social dynamics in Bangladesh. Exploring these works allows students to grasp profound human experiences while transforming reading into an enjoyable habit.

Participating students expressed their appreciation for the platform, observing that the session allowed them to explore broader literary landscapes outside textbooks, articulate insights, and learn from peers.

Organisers reaffirmed that Bashundhara Shuvosangho will continue hosting structured reading circles and knowledge-driven programmes across the region to build an intellectually enlightened and socially aware younger generation.
