HONOR has unveiled its Robot Phone in Bangladesh as the technology company expands beyond smartphones into connected devices, including laptops and TVs.
The device was introduced at HONOR Connect in Dhaka Tuesday, alongside a new brand logo and the “Dare to Be” philosophy, according to a press release.
The event at the United Convention Center also highlighted the upcoming local launch of the Magic9 Pro. Launched globally on 28 September, the flagship smartphone was developed in collaboration with cinema camera maker ARRI.
HONOR SEA Region GTM Director Leo Pei said the company is broadening its product range to create a more connected experience across devices.
“Phones, tablets, wearables, laptops and TVs are designed to work together and adapt to how people use them,” he said.
Lang Guo, country manager, HONOR Bangladesh, said the Robot Phone was one example of the broader ecosystem being developed for consumers.
Mohammad Zahirul Islam, managing director of Smart Technologies (BD) Limited, said local manufacturing is already underway and more gadgets will gradually be introduced to the Bangladesh market.
“We will gradually bring HONOR’s gadgets to the Bangladeshi market,” he said.
Filmmaker Raihan Rafi and cinematographer Sumon Sarker attended the programme and discussed ARRI technology and its potential applications in filmmaking.
Rafi said the Robot Phone’s camera could give filmmakers greater flexibility, particularly for shots where conventional equipment is difficult to use.
The experience zone featured the Magic V6 foldable smartphone, alongside tablets, earbuds, headphones and smartwatches.
Visitors also got an early look at upcoming laptops and TVs. The television range will cover 32 to 100 inches, while multiple laptop series are planned for the local market.
