Nagad and United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) have partnered to facilitate inward remittances through mobile wallets and expand digital payment services for customers.
Under the agreement, remittances routed through UCB will be delivered to Nagad wallets nationwide, including beneficiaries in rural and remote areas. Nagad users will also be able to access the funds round the clock.
The agreement was signed at UCB’s corporate head office in Gulshan, Dhaka, on Wednesday by Nagad Chief Commercial Officer Mohummed Shahin Sarwar Bhuiyan and UCB Additional Managing Director Adnan Masud, according to a press release.
The partnership will also enable Nagad users to pay UCB loan instalments, DPS instalments and credit card EMIs through the platform. It will support customer onboarding and wider use of digital transactions.
Nagad and UCB already offer Add Money services, while NPSB interoperability and Bangla QR payment facilities are available across their platforms.
