Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all flights to Riyadh indefinitely amid ongoing airport attacks in Saudi Arabia, citing passenger safety, while planning to resume flights to Dammam from 21 October, subject to the airport’s approval.
In a press release issued on Saturday, the national flag carrier said it would take further decisions on Riyadh flights after receiving instructions from the airport authorities and inform passengers accordingly.
The airline plans to resume Dammam-bound flights on 21 October, subject to obtaining the necessary permission from Dammam Airport.
Meanwhile, Biman’s flights to Jeddah and Madinah remain operational, allowing passengers to travel to Saudi Arabia through the two international airports.
To accommodate passengers, the airline has been operating larger-capacity aircraft on its Madinah route. This arrangement will continue until today, after which Boeing 787 aircraft will return to the route from tomorrow.
Biman is also arranging additional flights to Jeddah in response to passenger demand, the release said.
The airline said it would provide further updates on flight operations and schedules for the affected routes in due course.
Passengers have been advised to contact their nearest Biman Bangladesh Airlines sales centre for information on ticket purchases, bookings and travel arrangements.
