Another consignment of 60,875 tonnes of wheat from the USA has arrived in Bangladesh.

The MV WECO TATI, carrying the shipment, has docked at the outer anchorage of Mongla Port, the Ministry of Food said in a press release on Saturday.

The wheat was imported under a government-to-government agreement following a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries.

Bangladesh will import a total of 4.40 lakh tonnes of wheat from the USA under the G-to-G agreement.

The first consignment of 56,959 tonnes and the second, containing 60,802 tonnes, reached Bangladesh on 25 October and 3 November, respectively.

With the third shipment of 60,875 tonnes, a total of 1,78,636 tonnes of wheat has arrived in the country.

Samples from the shipment underwent physical testing and necessary arrangements have already been made to ensure smooth unloading of wheat, read the release.
