MyTV Chairman Nasiruddin, son Afridi shown arrested in attempted murder case

A Dhaka court on Monday granted a petition to show Nasir Uddin Sathi, chairman of the private television channel My TV, and his son, controversial YouTube figure Tawhid Afridi, as arrested in an attempted murder case filed with the Badda police station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiaq passed the order after police produced them before the court, seeking their detention, state prosecutor Samsuddoha Sumon confirmed the information.
According to the case document, Durjoy took part in the July movement in the Badda area of the capital on 20 July.
At that time, the accused, along with others, allegedly attacked and opened fire on them, and Durjoy was shot in the eyes, causing his blindness.
On 20 November last year, Durjoy filed a case with Badda Police Station against 90 people, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
