A young man was stabbed to death in the Mohammadpur area of the capital over previous enmity late Wednesday night.
The incident took place around 12:50am in the Sadeq Khan Itkhola area, said Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Tejgaon Division Md Jewel Rana.
The victim was identified as Asadul Haque, locally known as “Lambu Asadul.” He hailed from Gournadi in Barishal and was living in a rented flat in Metro Housing, Mohammadpur.
Police said passersby found his blood-stained body on the road while heading towards Hazaribagh from the Beribadh intersection and informed authorities.
He had multiple stab injuries on his chest and back. Police recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Law enforcers suspect the killing was planned and carried out over previous enmity, though the exact motive and those involved are yet to be confirmed.
The incident comes days after another killing in the same area, where a man named Alex Iman was hacked to death on 12 April.
