The leadership said Pakistan’s armed forces
remained fully prepared to meet future challenges and threats. The messages
also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the right to self-determination of the
people of Jammu and Kashmir, saying lasting peace in South Asia would remain
difficult without a just resolution of the dispute.
The messages further highlighted Pakistan’s
role in regional and global peace and stability, while paying homage to those
killed and renewing a pledge of national unity in defence of the country.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh,
Imran Haider, paid tribute to the country’s armed forces and people, saying
they had remained united during what he described as unprovoked Indian
aggression.
Other speakers, including Pakistani students
and community members, also praised the country’s civilian and military
leadership and the armed forces.
A pictorial exhibition featuring important
moments of Marka-e-Haq was arranged at the chancery. A documentary highlighting
the professionalism and bravery of Pakistan’s armed forces was also screened
for participants.
The programme ended with prayers for peace,
progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
