Contributing society, country is my goal: Sheikh Shadi

Kushtia District BNP Joint Convener and Chairman of Assure Group, Sheikh Sadi said, “My main goal now is not just business, but contributing to the development of society and the country. I believe work never betrays people.”
He made the remarks on Saturday evening at a discussion titled “Kushtia’s Development and Prospects” held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.
Sheikh Shadi said that as President of Kushtia District Association Dhaka, he has been working for many years in education, healthcare, and social welfare. More than a thousand people from Kushtia are employed in his company, and he personally supports about 150 students in pursuing higher education.
“As a businessman, I have done what I could, but now I want to bring about bigger changes through politics,” he added.
Addressing journalists, Sheikh Sadi said, “There is no stain in my life. I always try to work for the welfare of Kushtia and its people. I will continue these efforts in politics and social service in the future as well.”
Munshi Torikul Islam conducted the event, while Rezwanul Haque, Chief News Editor of Maasranga TV, presided over it.
Speaking as a special guest Abdul Bari, Media Adviser to the Chairman of Bashundhara Group also a senior journalist, said, “Kushtia is famous by name, but we have no share in state power. Whether it was under the Awami League or the BNP, Kushtia never had that level of representation.”
He further said that the talent, potential, and reputation of people from Kushtia are recognised across the country, yet their presence at the highest levels of state power remains limited.
He expressed hope that in the future, Kushtia’s leadership would be more strongly reflected at the national level.
