1,006 cases from Hasina era approved for withdrawal

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed on Sunday approved the withdrawal of 1,006 criminal cases filed over the past 17 years.
Faial Hassan, public relations officer of the ministry, confirmed the decision in a press statement.
“The home minister has approved the withdrawal of 1,006 cases filed during the previous government,” the statement said.
During the immediate past interim government, several thousand cases filed against opposition leaders and activists during the Awami League’s tenure were also withdrawn.
