Evercare Hospital Chattogram has set a milestone by providing advanced cancer care to patients in Chattogram and surrounding regions.
Since the launch of its Comprehensive Cancer Care
Center in June 2023, the hospital has provided radiation therapy to more than
2,500 cancer patients. During the same period, it also completed six bone
marrow transplants.
The hospital authority highlighted the achievement
at a press conference, organised to mark the “World Radiotherapy Awareness Day”

They said cancer patients from Chattogram and
neighbouring districts had to travel to Dhaka or abroad to access advanced
cancer treatment for many years.

Hospital Chattogram launched the region’s first and only Comprehensive Cancer
Care Center in June 2023.
The center currently provides integrated services in

Marrow Transplantation, and Palliative Care, they said.
In addition, the hospital provides specialised
hematology and bone marrow transplant services for patients suffering from
complex blood disorders and cancers.
Dr Arif Mahmud, group medical director of Evercare
Hospitals, Bangladesh, said, “Alongside advanced technology, a skilled and
integrated medical team plays a vital role in cancer care. Our primary goal is
to ensure safe and high-quality treatment for our patients.”
Professor Dr Sazzad Mohammad Yusuff, visiting senior
consultant of Medical & Radiation Oncology, said, “Being able to provide
radiation therapy to more than 2,500 patients is an important achievement
toward realising the goal.”
