Things You Should Not Use On Your Face

Often we apply many things on our face without even knowing that it's not good for the face. We often experiment with natural handy things to look good and nourish the skin and hair. Some of these things may temporarily help you to get the desired look but will harm your skin in the long run. Here is a list of things that you should never put on your face.

1. Baking soda

Many beauty tutorials suggest baking soda to get glowing fair skin within a short time. Some even use it as a hair removal, while some other people use baking soda as a scrub because it is affordable and handy. But what beauty tutorials never tell you is that it has high level of pH. It can destroy your skin. The pH of baking soda is 9 which is more likely to damage and burn the delicate skin of your face. It is safe to use it in other parts of the body but not on the delicate skin of your face.

2. Lemon juice

Lemon is a great source of vitamin C but it should not be applied on your skin for two reasons. The first reason is related to pH level. The pH of lemon juice is 2. It makes it acidic. So if you have dry or medium skin, it can harm your skin’s pH level. The second reason is that it is a photo-synthesizer.

3. Body lotion

As the name suggests, the body lotion is made for your body. Your face skin is more delicate and thin as compared to your body. So, avoid using body lotion for your face, use a face wash instead. Body lotions are made for thin skin, and you should use something else for your face instead of a body lotion.

4. Hot water

Many of us wash our face with hot water. Some people believe that it opens up the pores and helps to get rid of dirt but it should not be done. It absorbs moisture from your face and makes your skin dry. Even in winters, you should use moderate warm water as your skin is already dry and using warm water can make it drier. So, avoid taking hot showers. It doesn't harm your body that much, but it does cause harm to your face.

5. Alcohol

Many beauty experts suggest alcohol as it may fix your broken skin and can also be used to dry the oily skin. But the fact is that it damages your healthy skin cells and causes skin irritation. Use some other alternatives instead.

6. Toothpaste

Many people use toothpaste to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads. It is true that toothpaste will help you to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads within a few minutes as toothpaste has chemical ingredients that can kill bacteria. It is also true that using toothpaste on a regular basis may result in many other skin care problems.

In short, if you don’t want unexpected skin problems, do not use the things mentioned above on your face. Use the alternatives that are made for your skin. There are many other things available in the market which are beneficial to your face.
