Police uncovered a bomb-making workshop inside Geneva Camp in the capital’s Mohammadpur area and seized 35 homemade explosives, commonly known as cocktails, during a raid on Friday.

Confirming the news, Abdullah Al Mamun, Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Mohammadpur Zone, said 35 cocktails, along with various bomb-making materials, were recovered from the hidden workshop.

According to police, members of the Awami League had been preparing the explosives for use on 17 November.

Abdullah Al Mamun added that further raids are expected as part of the ongoing crackdown on illegal explosive production.
