The Bangladesh Air Force held an Airman-to-Airman Talk (A2AT) with the US Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), aiming to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation, the US Embassy in Dhaka said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
The Oregon Air National Guard, which serves as Bangladesh’s state partner under the US State Partnership Programme and works with PACAF to support bilateral engagements, also took part in the talks.
The embassy said the A2AT serves as a key bilateral forum for the two sides to align their priorities and activities. The development comes amid continued defence engagement between Bangladesh and the United States.
Earlier on Saturday, Bangladesh and the US signed a strategic agreement on civil nuclear cooperation, marking a new step in bilateral cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear technology.
Additionally, US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T Christensen recently discussed bilateral relations and defence cooperation with Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman during a meeting in Dhaka.
