Two crude bombs exploded in the Karwan Bazar area of the capital on Sunday night.

Police said no one was injured in the blasts.

Kalabagan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Fazle Ashik told reporters that his team visited the spot, but eventually learned that the area was "out of their jurisdiction."

The spot of blasts fell "under Tajgaon Police Station," said Md Fazle Ashik. However, Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mobarak Hossain has contested, saying the area fell under Kalabagan Police Station.

Since 10 December, Awami League, a banned political group, has carried out arson attacks and hurled crude bombs in different parts of the country in a bid to challenge the court proceedings against party chief Sheikh Hasina.

On Monday, the International Crimes Tribunal is set to deliver the first verdict against Hasina, since she was ousted from the post of government head in a mass uprising last year. She and two others stand trial on charges of committing crimes against humanity.
