Evercare Hospital Dhaka observes World Radiotherapy Awareness Day

Evercare Hospital Dhaka on Monday observed World Radiotherapy Awareness Day to raise awareness about the role of radiotherapy in cancer treatment, improve access to treatment and dispel common misconceptions surrounding radiation therapy.
The hospital’s Cancer Care Centre organised the event, featuring a rally and patient forum attended by senior officials, oncologists, doctors from different specialities, hospital staff and patients.
Speaking at the event, Dr Biswajit Bhattacharjee, senior consultant and coordinator of the Radiation Oncology Department, highlighted the importance of clearing misconceptions about radiotherapy and ensuring its planned and controlled application.
“I believe this will help dispel misconceptions and build greater confidence in this treatment modality,” he said.
Dr Arman Reza Chowdhury, senior consultant of the Radiation Oncology Department, underscored advancements in radiotherapy and the need to make people aware of its vital role in cancer treatment.
“I hope this life-saving treatment modality will soon be made increasingly accessible to patients across the country for their benefit,” he said.
