Fertiliser dealer appointments yet to be finalised: Ministry

The government has warned people not to be misled by rumours regarding the appointment of fertiliser dealers, saying that no final decision has yet been made.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of Agriculture said applications received from districts across the country for fertiliser dealerships were undergoing scrutiny.
It said 46,095 applications have been received for 4,931 proposed fertiliser dealerships.
The ministry, which is scrutinising the applications, has not yet fixed a date for the appointment of dealers, the notice said, cautioning people against rumours circulating on social media.
District-wise circulars inviting applications for fertiliser dealerships were issued in several phases starting in September.
