Prime Minister’s Education Adviser Mahadi Amin on Sunday urged the UK-based international education board Learning Resource Network (LRN) to work with the government to modernise technical education and make it more effective.
He made the call at a meeting with LRN at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Mahadi said the government of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman planned to restructure technical education to make it more people-orientated and has planned to transfer largely ineffective technical institutions to the private sector while expanding education with government support.
He also stressed the need to enhance students’ professional skills and proficiency in foreign languages.
LRN Chief Executive Officer Dr Zuhaib Tariq presented an overview of the organisation. LRN Bangladesh Chief Shoaib Choudhury, along with other officials, was present at the meeting.
