Sewing training centre inaugurated in Boalmari

Bashundhara Shuvosangho on Tuesday inaugurated a sewing training centre at George Academy School in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur to help local women become self-reliant and improve their families’ financial well-being.
The initiative aims to empower women by equipping them with sewing skills and engaging them in income-generating activities.
Among those present at the inauguration were Shuvosangho Boalmari upazila committee President Jahangir Alam, Vice-President Hasan Mollah, General Secretary Dentist Md Anik Sheikh, Organising Secretary Nahid Hasan Mithu Sikder, Hospitality Affairs Secretary Imam Mehedi, Finance Secretary Gurudas and Trainer Mina Khanam, along with 20 trainees of the inaugural batch.
Speakers at the ceremony said women’s empowerment requires not only assistance but also opportunities to develop practical skills, saying that sewing training would enable women to generate income, ease their families’ financial burdens, boost their confidence and improve their social standing.
They also said a single training programme could mark the beginning of significant changes in a woman’s life.
