The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has warned of waging a tough movement if the people’s voting rights are “manipulated” through conspiracies.

Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the Election Commission around 4am on Friday.

He said, “The nation has witnessed the trauma of the 2014, 2018, and 2024 elections. Where are those who conducted the elections now? We would not expect this Election Commission to face a similar situation.”

In response to a question, Jubayer said that they honour any respectable opinion of the people, but will not accept any conspiracy or manipulation of public opinion.

He added that there have been various conspiracies over elections in the past, which the people did not accept.
