Jamaat pledges Tk50 lakh donation for Radda health facility in Mirpur

Jamaat-e-Islami has pledged that it would donate Tk50 lakh for repairing and restoring healthcare services at the severely damaged Radda MCH-FP in Mirpur.

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman announced the donation on Monday when inspecting the damages caused by vandalism and looting at the healthcare centre.

“This is an initial package. More support will continue for the people in the area in the future,” Shafiqur told reporters after visiting the site.

He alleged that government backed people orchestrated the attack on Radda as “none other would have the courage execute such a major crime.”

“Whoever is the culprit, must be brought to justice,” he added.

He raised concerns over the country’s deteriorating security situation, and urged the government to take appropriate corrective measures immediately.
