5 Rohingyas detained with Bangladeshi passports at airport

Members of Airport Armed Police (AAP) arrested five Rohingyas while traveling to the Middle East using Bangladeshi passports through Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Sunday morning.

The incident took place around 7:15 am, said Immigration Police.

The detainees were identified as Arifa Begum, Monika Hossain, Sanoara Begum, Mohammad Omar and Mohammad Abbas Udin. Among them, Abbas Uddin is a suspected member of human trafficking gang.

Confirming the matter, APBN officer of Airport ASP Asif said, the Rohingyas were detained while they were trying to go Saudi Arabia by a Gulf Air aircraft using Bangladeshi passport.
