Two Rohingyas held with 9,000 Yaba pills in their stomachs

The Airport Armed Police arrested two Rohingyas along with 9,000 pieces of Yaba pills at Hazrat  Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Wednesday night.

The arrestees were identified as Nazrul Islam, 46, and Mohammad Jobayer, 22.

Confirming the news, Airport Armed Police Additional Superintendent of Police (Ops and Media) Alamgir Hossain said that both of them were arrested around 9:00 pm on Wednesday with national identity cards of Bangladesh, obtained illegally.

He said Nazrul Islam and Mohammad Zubair were suspiciously roaming outside the airport's domestic terminal. Later, members of Airport Armed Police followed their suspicious movements.

“At one stage, the law enforcers talked with them and got confusing information. Later, police took them in custody and interrogated,” Alamgir Hossain said.

“Finally, both of them admitted that they were carrying Yaba pills in their stomachs. They had swallowed about 9,000 Yaba tablets wrapped in black tape,” the police official explained.

A case has been filed against both of them under Narcotics Control Act with the Airport Police station in the city.
