DU student among two held for proxy exam in Chattogram

Chattogram police, in separate drives, arrested two public university students on charges of giving proxy examinations in Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment test in the port city.

The detainee were identified as Md Jahid Hossain, 27, an MBA student of Dhaka University’s (DU) Accounting and Information Systems Department and Md Shah Alam, 26,  an MA student of Jagannath University’s (JnU) Bengali Department.

Confirming the incident, Khulshi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pranab Chowdhury said, “Jahid Hossain was arrested from Omar Goni MES College, an exam centre for the recruitment test, while he was giving proxy to a candidate named Md Chhaleuddin on Monday.”

Earlier, Shah Alam was arrested from CMP School and College, another exam centre, while he was giving proxy to a candidate, named Md. Nayem Uddin Hossain yesterday (Sunday).

A 3-day long SI recruitment test of Chattogram Metropolitan Police started On Sunday.

Pranab Chowdhury informed that separate lawsuits will be filed against the accused soon.
