Gone are the days of pilfering relief: State Minister

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Enamur Rahman said none is intended to pilfer relief allotted for the poor in the country as everyone is solvent now.

The minister made the statement while responding to a question by a journalist after a meeting of Inter-Ministerial Disaster Management Coordination Committee at the secretariat on Friday.

Enamur Rahman said that the financial solvency of our people has been increased; the days of pilfering relief allotted for the poor and destitute are far away from Bangladesh. Reports of pilfering relief are not seen now-a-days.

The State Minister also briefed the preparedness of the government to face floods in this monsoon.

He also said that the infested districts have already got Tk 2 crore 93 lac, 17.5 thousand metric ton of rice and 50 thousand packets of dried food.
