Writ petition seeks probe into rawhide price fall

A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking its directive on the government to form an independent probe committee to find out the cause of the rawhide price fall.

Advocate Mohiuddin Farhad Hanif, who filed the writ petition with the HC bench concerned, confirmed it on Sunday.

The HC bench of Justice FR M Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader is likely to hear the petition, said the lawyer.

It has been asked to find out those who are responsible for the declining prices of rawhides, the petition said.

Mentionable, a rawhide of a cow, bought at Tk one lakh, was sold at Tk 200. Failing to get good prices of rawhides of cattle, people were forced to bury rawhides.
