Social Business: New FAO chief’s discussion with Yunus ends

The newly elected Director-General of Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations, Qu Dongyu recently concluded a discussion with Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus over a joint social business project.

The discussion was held over FAO-Yunus  joint social business project in the Central African Republic at FAO headquarters in Rome on Wednesday which is funded by Italian government, said a press release.

In the discussion, professor Muhammad Yunus shared his views on future of agriculture particularly in the context of environmental crisis and youth entrepreneurship in rural areas to slow down the migration of young people to urban centers in search of jobs.

FAO created FAO-Nobel Laureate Alliance for eradicating hunger in collaboration with Professor Yunus.
