Dipu Chakma clinches gold medal in Kathmandu Int’l Taekwondo Champs

Dipu Chakma of Bangladesh Army clinched the men’s singles gold medal in senior (Under-39) category of the 3rd Kathmandu International Taekwondo Championship’2019 that concluded in Nepalese capital Kathmandu recently.

Mohammad Kamrul Islam of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP won silver medal in the men’s singles (under-23) category of the meet.

Taekwondo Federation hoped that this result will inspire Bangladesh taekwondo players for the upcoming 13th South Asian (SA) Games’2019 scheduled for December 1-10 in Kathmandu.

Earlier, a three-member Bangladesh taekwondo team, comprising two athletes and one official, represented Bangladesh in the four-day meet.

A total of 800 players from 12 countries took part in the different categories of the competition.
